In The Beginning
Michelle Young has been in the floral industry for over 30 years, creating one-of-a-kind arrangements for friends, family and members of her community. Drawn to this profession for her love of creating something beautiful, with no floral training, she started her career at a local florist in Rockland, Maine. Over the years she worked with another florist in St. George and later while beginning her family and working in other industries, she continued to create floral arrangements upon request in her spare time.
Always wanting to have her own shop and devote all her energies to her passion, she took a leap of faith in 2020 and established Seafarer Floral. Without a brick and mortal storefront, Michelle partners with local businesses and has done "pop up" shops at local farmers markets, gift shops and more. Contact Michelle for your next floral arrangement or if you are a caterer, photographer or shop owner and would like to work together! |
For the past eight years Michelle has been creating 6 foot wreaths for the Knox Sheriff to take to Washington DC to be placed at the memorial for fallen soldiers as part of Wreaths Across America. She has received two awards for her dedication, creativity and participation in this meaningful tribute and was invited to speak at the ceremony in Arlington, VA.
Wreaths Across America occurs annually in December and was created to remember, honor and teach our country about the sacrifice of our soldiers by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

As a long-standing member of the Tenants Harbor community Michelle's husband has made his career on the water as a lobsterman and often you'll find one of their sons out with him for the daily haul.
As you pass their home over the winter holidays, don't be surprised to see The Evolution a glow with lights in celebration! Local residents have stopped by their home to thank them for such a heart-warming holiday display, so fitting for the Tenants Harbor community. |
